This was a really good book and while it didn’t blow me away, it was highly enjoyable. I’ve been reading a lot of suspenseful, dark romance stories as of late. It was nice to change it up a bit with a nice, light and straightforward love story. Sometimes you just have to take a break from all those mysterious and emotionally traumatized romance-novel guys that always seem to lean towards bondage, etc. I love a bad boy, but it can be a bit overwhelming!
The characters and the storyline were very well-developed by Ms. Ashley, as is the norm for her. I also liked that the story of Josie and Jake seemed believable and not overdone in some fantastical way. The downside, is that sometimes the book did drag on. I did get bored a few times reading the detailed descriptions of mundane chores, etc. I think some of those details could have been skipped without taking anything from the story.
Despite a few lulls, I did enjoy this story a great deal and I do recommend it.
